50 an hour K9s For Warriors is the nation's largest provider of service dogs to veterans suffering from the invisible wounds of war, such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Our unique, in-house program helps change the lives of American heroes by pairing them with a battle buddy, who was likely a rescue dog and then teaching him or her to utilize that dog to mitigate the symptoms of their wounds.
In order to continue the great work, we are doing, we are in need of a K9 Placement Specialist to join our amazing team! Basic Function Under the general direction and supervision of the K9 Placement Assistant Manager, the K9 Placement Specialist is responsible for the facilitation, coordination, and execution of the adoption and foster process for dogs in training and career-changed dogs in our program.
The K9 Placement Specialist is also responsible for the maintenance of all associated records, processes, and documentation.
Essential Functions and Duties Plan, schedule, and facilitate both on-campus and off-campus adoption/foster events Work with the K9 Communications Specialist to promote adoptable canines across social media platforms Coordinate with the Adoption Trainer to ensure all training aspects of Career Changed dogs are in line with the adoption process.
Provide information on adoptable canines to K9s staff and the public through email and social media platforms Ensure all appropriate documentation is maintained on adoptable/foster canines including but not limited to:
behavior and household needs and medical records Establish and maintain positive relationships with shelters, rescues, and other partners to complete all aspects of canine procurement and placement Responsible for partner relationships, dog assessment and readiness, transportation of dogs, dog handling, and emergency preparedness Communicate regularly with the K9 Placement Assistant Manager to ensure coordination of all relevant tasks Support all other department activities which will contribute to the advancement and success of the team and the mission as identified by the supervisor Assist in other departments and campuses, primarily with the Procurement Team, as needed or when no canines are available for adoption Participate in Strategic planning process and cross-departmental projects as assigned Work independently with little or no supervision and in a professional manner at all times Other Duties Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management Weekend work schedule is required Qualifications H.

diploma or equivalent Ability to understand dog body language is required Previous work in related animal field is required Valid driver's license and ability be covered by facility driving insurance required Good communication skills in one on one, over phone, by email, and in group settings Must have basic computer literacy skills and be able to handle multiple unrelated tasks simultaneously while working in a busy environment Physical Demands Ability to exert a moderate to extensive amount of physical effort, including stooping, crouching, twisting, turning, walking stairs, climbing, and lifting up to fifty (50) pounds individually May be exposed to unpleasant odors, chemicals, loud noises, and inclement weather Core Competencies Planning and Organizing Integrity Results Oriented Sociability Job Type:
